The event is held each year through the support of a number of Chartered Alumni Organizations.

The reception is limited to 100 guests. During the reception, a primer about the show and backstage information about the process from members of the production team will be provided. Attendees of the reception will need to purchase show tickets separately. However, all reception attendees will be seated in the best section of the theater.

Legally Blonde tells the story of Elle Woods a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner. She discovers how her knowledge of the law can help others and successfully defends exercise queen Brooke Wyndham in a murder trial.

The Livingston Theatre Company of Rutgers is a university wide student run performing arts organization/learning community that involves over 100 students each academic year. Although artistic excellence has been a core part of its mission since the inception in 1998, the benefits of student development and leadership have been the anchor to its success. As Rutgers University's premiere musical theatre organization the group has produced both classic and forgotten musicals of all size and scope.
